To help new moms make breastfeeding as enjoyable and successful as possible, Clinic Sofia has added a lactation consultant. Kim Skavnak, RN, IBCLC, is a certified lactation consultant and is available by appointment or for phone consultations to answer questions and offer support to nursing moms. Clinic Sofia Ranked among Top Three in State for OBGYN Care

For the second year in a row, Clinic Sofia was recognized as one of the three highest performing OBGYN groups in the state in the recently released Minnesota Community Measurement (MNCM) clinical quality report. In the organization’s 2012 Health Care Quality Report, Clinic Sofia was hailed for its outstanding work in screening for breast cancer, colorectal cancer, chlamydia and cervical cancer. Dr. Donna Block to Start Seeing Patients in Maple Grove This Summer

To better serve more patients across the metro, Dr. Donna Block will begin seeing patients on Thursdays at Clinic Sofia’s Maple Grove location on Aug. 29. Appointments are now available by calling 952.922.7600. Dr. Block will continue to see patients in Edina as well. Clinic Sofia’s Maple Grove office, located at 15679 Grove Circle North near Maple Grove Hospital, is open Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon. The new office opened last summer to help meet Clinic Sofia’s growing patient base in the west metro and has seven staff members, including Dr. Suja Roberts, who previously practiced at the Edina location. Both Dr. Block and Dr. Roberts use Fairview Southdale Hospital and Maple Grove Hospital for labor, delivery and surgical procedures.
