Ask Sofia: What screenings do I need and when should I get them?
Even if you aren’t due for your annual visit until the end of the year, we always recommend starting the year out right by making those key appointments aimed at keeping your health and wellness on track.
2020 at Clinic Sofia
Ringing in a new year can mean renewing hopes and new beginnings – it also offers the opportunity for a fresh start. What are your goals and dreams for 2020?
Are you due for an annual exam?
No matter what your age or life stage, it is important to see your doctor each year. The focus of annual exams will change over time, but this visit always provides an opportunity for preventative screenings and a chance to ask questions regarding physical, emotional and sexual health as well as pregnancy, aging, menopause and any specific concerns.
Ask Sofia: Should I only take folic acid while pregnant?
While many women recognize the importance of folic acid during pregnancy, it is actually a vital nutrient for growth and development that is recommended for women throughout their life span. This B vitamin helps prevent birth defects in babies and it also helps our bodies make new cells.
Finding fitness motivation in the new year
For many of us, ringing in the new year can be an ideal time to reset health and nutrition goals. We recently looked to a member of our Clinic Sofia community, Shannon Schritz, for her expert advice on setting and following through on some actionable goals in establishing a fitness routine. Shannon is owner of BzBodyFitness, a boutique studio in Eden Prairie offering fitness training and nutrition consulting.
