A Closer Look: Amy Nelson
You may have had the good luck to meet Amy Nelson, a Certified Medical Assistant and Lab Tech, since she has been a part of the Clinic Sofia team for nearly two decades! She works alongside our physicians to take care of patients, assist with prenatal checkups, coordinating lab work and scheduling, and more.
Her favorite thing about working at Clinic Sofia? “I love getting to know our patients!” she shares.
After graduating from Minnesota Business College with a degree in Medical Assisting, Amy was “terrified to draw blood and I swore I would never do it after finishing school. Fortunately, I eventually got over my fear and learned to be the best!”
When she’s not drawing blood or taking your blood pressure, Amy loves nothing more than spending quality time with family and friends—and listening to anything by Luke Bryan. She adds, “I love watching my daughter play volleyball and dance, walking my dog Ebbie and also fostering dogs and cats and pet-sitting—I am clearly an animal lover!—as well as taking a great Pilates class and checking out new breweries.”
Amy is double-jointed, which means she can literally bend over backwards to support our patients and team—and we look forward to celebrating her 20th anniversary with Clinic Sofia next November!
